COMMITTEE UPDATES
- Grocery Card Committee: We will need a new volunteer to take over next year. Cheryl Solko reports it is not a big time commitment, and this program has raised over $3,000 for the department this year.
- Concessions: When you donate items for concessions, please check the expiration date and make sure they are not expiring soon. A suggestion for next year is to set up a schedule in which each class will manage shows that don’t pertain to their kids (i.e. 7th grade will manage concessions for the 8th grade show, so their families are free to enjoy the show). Please offer other suggestions along these lines.
- Tech Week Meals: We need lots of volunteers to deliver food to the school during Tech Weeks. The food has been arranged with a variety of local restaurants by the committee.
- Fundraising: Several people voiced questions and ideas about fundraising. Mr. Becker suggested holding a separate fundraising meeting. We still have many Chinook Books that can be picked up from Ms. Hann. Unsold copies can be returned. Ms. Hann pointed out that each copy contains a coupon for $20 to be used for tickets at the DCPA.
- Treasurer Position: Treasurer will manage only money coming in, including $300 family contributions, payments for headshots, Scene Night DVDs, but not individual fundraisers.
- “Laughing Weekend”: April 5th-7th (see details on the website)
- Thursday, April 5th: Opening night of Laughing Stock, Not-so-Silent Auction (kooky, off-beat auction items needed)
- Friday, April 6th: “Improv Off,” a faculty versus students improv show at 9:30 after the performance
- Saturday, April 7th: Improv festival workshops during the day, followed by the matinee, and an improv show
- If you are interested in helping to coordinate this great weekend, please contact the committee:
Reminders from Mr. Becker:
- Please let him know if your child will not be at school on March 22nd or 23rd as those are the days scheduled for the Shakespeare Festival auditions.
-
Theatre binders must be neat and organized, papers must be three-hole punched – remind your kids!

Use this to send out info about each upcoming show to our ticket-buying base.

The CSC is working on what the vision for DSA is for the future – if parents have any ideas they should e-mail Mr. Becker to pass along
